Victor Laury Posted July 21, 2004 Share #1 Posted July 21, 2004 is there a way to remove the black plastic handle off of the hand brake lever? On the roadster, it was glued, and with a twist and a pull, off it came. The Z's handle seems more stubborn. I'd like to take it off to sand out the scratches then hit it on the polishing wheel for the "Oh My!" shine.
lordbiotree Posted July 23, 2004 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2004 My 71 240Z has a like wooden handle. Don't think I would be able to take it off.

Alfadog Posted July 23, 2004 Share #4 Posted July 23, 2004 All S30Z's came with the black plastic handle, I'm guessing the 'wood' one was an aftermarket addon?
Inf Posted July 23, 2004 Share #5 Posted July 23, 2004 Isn't it bakelite? Thats what it feels like to me. That stuff gets really fragile with age
lordbiotree Posted July 23, 2004 Share #6 Posted July 23, 2004 I'll take a few pictures this evening. I've got a gold Z imported from Canada. This is the Z with the wooden steering wheel material handle. My 2 other 240Z's have the black handle.
