Hmph!! Yesterday I was stopped in traffic by someone who pulled up next to me, obviously anxious to talk about the z. He wound down his window and said " that's a great looking Ford Capri". LOL He was (I think) trying to impress his wife/girlfriend/ significant other (who was in the passenger seat) by his automotive knowledge..

Ford Capri?!?!?

Sure, the bumpers are off it at the moment, but a fish n' chip V6 banger?

Oh please..I was tempted to say it took me ages to modify it to look like a 70's Japanese sportscar, but resisted the temptation. At least he could have said "Ferrari Daytona!"

I resent that remark!

I owned a 76 Capri II with a V6 2800 4spd and it was simply put...a rocket.

Although I will admit that even during those happy years (79-89) I still harkened for the Z. But, nonetheless the Capri was a fast, comfortable and very much a rocket.

Neighborhood kids asked if mine was a Ferrari once. YES!

Girl at gas station thought it was a Porsche. I'll take that as a compliment, too.

But the Ferrari comment, WOOHOO! That was exactly what I was aiming for. 250GTO, 275GTB, Daytona, the 240Z fits right in there, styling-wise.
