Posted July 25, 200420 yr comment_88816 The crank shaft pulley is wobbling and hitting something which creating banging noise from the L28. So I have to replace the crank shaft pulley, altnater pulley, and the water pump pulley. What's is the "internal balance damper/harmonic balancer/Euro damper"? I read privious posts which suggest the crank shaft pulley and Harmonic balancer are same things. So if I buy a Euro Damper or Race damper from the NISMO or Super Damper(Harmonic balancer) from the ATI performance products, then I won't have to buy L-28 crank shaft pulley from NISMO or MSA?Please someone advice for this things.jaynez31 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12651-crank-shaft-pulleyeuro-damper-internal-balance-damper-assembly/ Share on other sites
July 25, 200420 yr comment_88832 The part commonly called a crankshaft pulley OR called a Harmonic Balancer/Damper is actually two parts combined into one, The cranksaft pulley AND the damper (also called a Harmonic balancer). The Euro damper, or Race Damper from Nismo are differnt versions of the same part.I've never heard of an "internal balance damper assembly". July 25, 200420 yr comment_88841 I agree with Bambikiller. Also don't waste your money on the Nissan Comp. race damper. Its very expensive, and you dont need it unless its an all out race engine. The euro damper only has one integral pulley groove. If its a street car just a standard replacement damper will work fine. Since it came loose, the front seal may also need replacing. Check the threads closely on the attaching bolt, and replace it if damaged. Reassemble it with locktite and 95 ft./lbs. torque.Phred Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12651-crank-shaft-pulleyeuro-damper-internal-balance-damper-assembly/#findComment-88841 Share on other sites
July 26, 200420 yr comment_88872 Also, make sure that the nose of your crank isn't damaged. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12651-crank-shaft-pulleyeuro-damper-internal-balance-damper-assembly/#findComment-88872 Share on other sites
