Tach Adapter or Tach Work

Deus Ex

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

I know alot has been said and done about MSD ignition systems and tachos, but im still unclear on a couple of issues. I have read three things,

1) Get the tacho modified for around $100

2) Get a tach adapter from MSD (no idea on price)

3) Get a Dual Ballaster Resistor (about $25).

Does anyone have any idea if the ballaster resistor works? as it is the cheaper option. Also does anyone know a shop who works on Tachos is the Brisbane area?

Thanks guys your help is appreciated

dont know about the ballast resistor, im going through the same thing. got a mate who made up a circuit with a mosfet and a couple of resistors which got it working. only thing is it fried once i put it on the track (constant high RPM). once version 2 is up and running and doesnt fry ill post the diagram. should cost aout 15 bucks in parts from a radio shack.

I just replaced my dizzy in the 240 with a 280zx one. Now the tach doesn't work! :disappoin I'm going to check with the Pres of the Z Club in Brizzy why it isn't working, he's an auto elec so I'll get his work no. and PM it to you. He should be able to answer your questions too (I'd say) and do the work for you. Then at least you'd have someone with a passion for the cars working on it..
