lordbiotree Posted August 6, 2004 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2004 A true black pearl edition in good condition should at least be worth 4-5K. A perfect example should be around 8,000.
Zrush Posted August 6, 2004 Share #3 Posted August 6, 2004 A true black pearl edition in good condition should at least be worth 4-5K. A perfect example should be around 8,000. I would think a "perfect" example would fetch much more than $8,000. A Black Pearl in any other condition is comperable to any Z in simular conditon no? That was wordy, but you know what I mean. I'm still searching for the rumored Black Pearl in St. Petersburg with 16 miles on it. This story has been circulating around the car shows for a while. Car stories are like fish stories around here Vicky

Alfadog Posted August 6, 2004 Share #5 Posted August 6, 2004 Documentation to prove it's authenticity would also probably be helpful!
MikeW Posted August 6, 2004 Share #6 Posted August 6, 2004 Just for some extra information, here's a very good example of one of these cars. Even though it's from the Florida club Jesse and Michelle now live here in Georgia and belong to our club:http://www.suncoastzcarclub.homestead.com/carz_jessespage.html
lordbiotree Posted August 7, 2004 Share #7 Posted August 7, 2004 A black pearl edition with all of the paper work is comparable to an original 1970 240Z(in price). A black pearl without any documentation is the same as any other S30Z.
gema Posted August 7, 2004 Share #8 Posted August 7, 2004 Why sell a Black Pearl and move to something "better," unless by "better" you mean something easier to work on. Judging from your other posts, you need an absolutely turnkey Datsun...which I think short of a Factory Restored Z, you won't find. You have a nice piece of history in your hands, why pass it off? sblake01 Posted August 8, 2004 Share #9 Posted August 8, 2004 What is the overall condition of the car? You say new paint but what has been done about the BPE graphics? How does it run? I seem to remember fuel delivery and/or electrical problems with this car. How is the interior? What is missing or needs to be replaced? All of those things are important in determining a price. d3c0y Posted August 8, 2004 Share #10 Posted August 8, 2004 I don't think not having the paper work really devalues the car that much at all if you dont have it ... as long as you can prove it was a BPE... its more like something that will add a bit more to it Not trying to hijack your thread but i have the same question about my zed too... I have a '78 260Z 2+2 (i live in australia) with the following modifications: Electronic ignition 4 Piston Caliper upgrade on the front Retrimmed interior in cream appart from front seats (fair condition) Remoulded dash complete with perfect gauges (even the clock works) FJ20DET Turbo 5 speed gearbox 4.1 Open R200 Air Conditioning (needs gassing) 16" x 7 Rays Engineering Copy mags with 205/45 tyres 30mm Billet Aloy wheel spacers that give you the offset of an S-13 Silvia J-Spec Nismo Headers Exceedy Heavy Duty Clutch Daiken Organic Centre 5kg lighter flywheel 2.25" Exhaust All new seals in engine 240Z Hitachi SU's with 240Z manifolds with non emissions type Cam gear on #3 dowel :rambo: Central Locking Good paint What do you think its worth ? 2ManyZs Posted August 8, 2004 Share #12 Posted August 8, 2004 If the car still has the original paint code sticker, that should be proof enough.Only the BP came with the 633(I think that's the right code) paint code in 78.No paint code sticker and no paperwork is gonna make it nearly impossible to prove it is an original BP.
