Hi all,

I made a change to the front page by removing the "Latest Forum Activity" from the bottom of the page. This information is available if you click 'Latest 100 Posts' from the left menu, or you can also use "Today's Posts" from the upper left or even "New Posts" from the top menu bar.

Hope this isn't too much to handle.... But, if there are enough people who want to keep it on the main page, I'll put it back. Just let me know by reply to this message.

By the way, I also got the front page gallery photos going again.

Guess I'll try to be the first one, again. (hopefully my post won't be deleted this time!) I prefer the Activity in the Forums block on the Home page. Have to log in anyway, and there's a ton of empty space in the center collumn. Having to go to another page to see what's happening is no big deal if you are on a DSL or cable modem, but on a Dial-up every page load counts (in terms of time). What is gained by removing it? I think it was one of the areas most used by members who return to the site throughout the day.

PS the banner ads appear to have disappeared, until you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. They are "invisable" n my computer, but if you place your mouse pointer in the center at the very bottom you'll see there is an invisable link for them.

I think if the menu on the left was a little more prominent, more obvious as a menu, it would work better. The front page seems to have menu choices all over the place and it is confusing. If you are going to put the forums or the galleries on another page, I think the menu should be comprehensive in one place and prominent enough for everyone to recognize. Change is good - shakes everyone awake and gets rid of the cheap lowlife rabble we don't want to talk to anyhow.

yep - I like the new posts on the home page, it was one of the best things about the homepage, that and the latest gallery additions :bandit:

Since we're on the subject of the Front Page, do we need two log in boxes?

The one in the center column at the very top isn't really needed, and it would allow the page to shorten up somewhat. And, it used to be we only had 3 Front Page News boxes, now there are 4.

Once you log in, the Calender Events box on the right column is what is making the page so large.. half the events are repeated once or twice for the same date...??? For instance, the Montery Historic is repeated 2 and 3 times for each date...

Yeah, only one Log In box should be needed on a Page, but the one in the center collumn has (after you've logged in) a link to your PM's, and tells you if there are new PM's for you to read, which I really like having on the Home Page. Maybe that link could be moved to one of the side collumns?

When I log out I get "VB bulletin error in logging out".

It then says "log out here". Is it just my computer or does that happen with others?
