Posted August 8, 200420 yr comment_90203 The hood emblem on my 73 came loose and I want to reattach it, but I can't find an source for the "clips" to hold it in. And while I'm sure double-sided tape will hold, I know I'll regret it later How have others done this? August 8, 200420 yr comment_90204 Ask a local body shop? They may have handfuls of them laying around. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12786-attaching-hood-emblem/#findComment-90204 Share on other sites
August 8, 200420 yr comment_90239 Are you saying the nipple broke off the back of the badge? Or you lost the clip that attaches to the nipple? When mine broke the nipple I ended up using double sided tape. Get the rubberized kind that you would use on mouldings and stuff. August 8, 200420 yr Author comment_90242 Ed, I'm missing the clips. The nipples look fine, at least for a 31 year old piece of plastic... I'll try Carl's suggestion and see if a local body shop has a clip. Otherwise I guess it's double sided tape.Daniel Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12786-attaching-hood-emblem/#findComment-90242 Share on other sites
August 8, 200420 yr comment_90254 The clips are easy to come by, you should also be able to pick them up at a hardware store also. I've seen them at Sears hardware, and Ace.Good luck Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12786-attaching-hood-emblem/#findComment-90254 Share on other sites
