The hood emblem on my 73 came loose and I want to reattach it, but I can't find an source for the "clips" to hold it in. And while I'm sure double-sided tape will hold, I know I'll regret it later

How have others done this?

Ask a local body shop? They may have handfuls of them laying around.

Are you saying the nipple broke off the back of the badge? Or you lost the clip that attaches to the nipple? When mine broke the nipple I ended up using double sided tape. Get the rubberized kind that you would use on mouldings and stuff.

Ed, I'm missing the clips. The nipples look fine, at least for a 31 year old piece of plastic... I'll try Carl's suggestion and see if a local body shop has a clip. Otherwise I guess it's double sided tape.

The clips are easy to come by, you should also be able to pick them up at a hardware store also. I've seen them at Sears hardware, and Ace.
