Adding another Z 2 the family

Hello,

A friend of mine noticed a Z for sale couple days ago and knowing that I am a admirer of these told me about it. That afternoon went out to take a look and was not expecting much, but to my surprise it is a '73 240. I had to stop and take a look. My heart bout stopped when I got a closer look. This car was in great shape. As i was peeking in the windows an old man came out from the house and told me that he was selling this car for his sister-inlaw, because her husband had just died (his brother). We talked for a while and told him that i was very interested but had to check with the better half first before i could commit. I jumped in my car started toward home, called the wife on the cell told her of this and she said go for it. Needles to say i hung a U-EE went back and told the good ole boy consider it sold. We picked the car up yesterday and drove her home. I had noticed a couple of box,s in the back of the car when i picked it up but did not check out the contents untill i got home. Inside this box is the original sales slip, Nissan 1972 Service Manual for the L20A, L24 Series Engines, FSM for the 72 and couple other manuals from the add-on gadgets he had put in this car and a couple of books that I havent come across before.... Datsun Accessories catalog and a Jim Cook racing catalog. The other box had the original radio face plate (different radio in the car now), 2 z emblems (car had been painted years back but emblems never put back on) seat hinge covers and carb tuning tool. I really enjoyed those box's of goodies. Evidently this car has been garaged, no fading of the upholstery, both seats do have one seam tear on the sitting part and the dash does have a couple of cracks, but all in all thats not bad for a '73. Any way just want to you all know that 1 more Z has been added to this forum......... production date 12/72 #HLS30140770.

Got some pic's up for anyone who is interested. Bill, I havent driven the car but 20 miles back to my house from the time i picked it up, but i do have a noise coming from the rear, not sure what or where it is coming from. When I turn to the left, (shift weight to the right side) the sound is more pronounced. My plan was not to tear into this untill i finished other projects, but really wanting to get after this.
