August 26, 200420 yr comment_92873 I am going to ask a vary basic question here . What are you using to replace the stock brake lines? DO NOT USE COPPER for this or for fuel !!Gary, you're one of the few guys I've seen post this information and I couldn't agree with you more. I viewed a post earlier today on Hybridz and this guy included a nice picture of he workmanship on redoing his Z. Guess what, he had completely replumbed his brake lines and clutch line with copper!!! I kindly recommended to him he reconsider and then explained to him about copper workhardening. I quess if people are unaware, it might seem OK, but what they don't know is that they are playing with fire. :stupid: I quess thats why these car sites are so valuable to the car owners attempting to work on their own cars. August 26, 200420 yr Author comment_92884 Thanks Guy's for the helpful hints, but I am redoing all the lines with new ones that I ordered form the local auto shop and they are not copper. Personally I think that the copper ones look real tacky and wouldn't even consider them. As for the Line I was referring to before, I decided to eliminate it right at the end of the transmission housing because It wasn't even connected before the restoration and it didn't give me any problems. The new brake lines and clutch lines are a dark green color and has zinc plated connectors. It came out better than I thought. Thanks to all of you and especially to Victor for all the help. Now I'm just finishing up putting everything back together so that I can put the engine back in.Saro Fagerian Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12982-where-does-this-line-go/?&page=2#findComment-92884 Share on other sites
