What are these for?

Cheak out these pics of the areas behind the seats on my 12/70 build series 1 240z.

Any ideas what the brackets are for and alos what are the layout pads for (little raised bits in the metal on both sides).

They all have me stumped :ermm:

Thanks....and DOH on my part. I don't have the original jack (it came with a Nissan one) and those tool compartment covers are also gone if ever there in the first place!

So the 1st pick shows two raised brackets. What fits on those? Has anyone got a pic of what these tool lids look like when attached?

I think our member "Kats" has pictures of the jack and tools. Either in his gallery or on his website.

Someone else had pics of the doors, but I don't remember who.

As for seam sealer, my Z's 71-73 had a white caulking applied to seams, but it was not silicone. I don't know how to describe it other than it was of a hard texture, not soft like silicone.

The indents are for placement of the various pieces in the OEM tool kit.

You have a space for the Lug Wrench, the Jack, the Chocks and the Tool Kit bag. Over these a pair of plastic "doors" would attach to the screw hole with rubber you can see at the top of your picture.

Sometime later, when the production completely used up the Series I bodies, the tool compartments migrated to the deck area.
