September 16, 200420 yr comment_95352 you can buy them sub $500 from a wrecker or buy a poor condition 280zx or 260Z 2+2 with one already fitted. The rebuild nicely with high compression for NA or turbo charged they can reach mid to high 100's (kW) with a mild setup using the factory turbo manifold or custom. September 16, 200420 yr comment_95390 Mickie a friend of mine just posted some turbo gear on the viczcar website. If your interested I've seen the stuff looks not bad you'll need a motor but i believe he has the intake and exhaust manifold. not sure what else. www.viczcar.com under forums and classifieds. I'm building a wild L28 for my Z I want to get out and cause a stir on the track muhahaahhahahaha Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/13090-hybridzorg-left-me-confused-s/?&page=3#findComment-95390 Share on other sites

September 17, 200420 yr comment_95466 We still have to get my mate to dyno the thing just to see how much power it actually makes are the rear wheels. He's also said we should get her down to Calder Park and see what it does down the 1/4 mile. You have read about Norm the 12 second SU dude? Well the work done to my mates Z is very similar but I personally think alot more professionally done. So I'm confident his car will run into the 12's and I've been in the car also and it really does feel quick. I remember the first night I met him he was flying around in it and I had told myself he must be running tripples and when he popped the bonnet and I see 2 SU's I was so suprised. He says you "don't" really need the stroker crank but I've got my mind set on it now. We have a few options with it either find a second hand LD28 crank in Australia import it from America but it might be $$$ or actually get a crankshaft made. It's by no means the cheapest way to go with the engine I'm building. I had already came across a P90 an F54, the good distributor which i wish i knew where it was from I'll be posting pics to try and see who know's what car they are on. The crank which i don't have yet. I think you could swap an RB motor in cheaper than building the LD28 is what I'm saying but I just like an L-series Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/13090-hybridzorg-left-me-confused-s/?&page=3#findComment-95466 Share on other sites

September 17, 200420 yr Author comment_95484 So considering i want to race this, i'd be better off saving up a bit more and getting an RB? September 17, 200420 yr comment_95560 Zedrally: Locally the only thing to really race it in is the bitumen sprints. All the classes are simply based on engine displacement, so having non original motors etc wont matter.
