thanks carls and everyone. by the way, is there anyone who has actually gotten their dash restored. would it be cheaper if i were to restore it today before the cracking gets really bad or does it not matter? and what about results. will it really look just as good as the original or would i end up with that feeling like its never gonna be the same?

Mate, as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for".

If you decide to have the dash restored, make ABSOLUTELY certain that the company you choose is a REPUTABLE one. Might cost a little more but worth it in the long run.

I was lucky. The P.O. had the dash redone. Looks good too.

Rick.

................For many people, the best option is to have an original dash recovered by Dashboard Restorations (a sponsor of theis site). Several members here can provide details of their experiences withthis company. Check out their forum on this site for further data.
