Getting her back on the road.

HI, I am finally putting my Z back on the road after moving cities, working too many hours and having too little money. Its been in the garage for about 2 years now. Times have changed, I now need to put my Z back on the road. Everything as far as I can tell is very good, but..... I also have the white smoke issue. I'm not sure if this is too serious, I hope not. I have about $3000 AUD to do whatever I need to do to fix this problem, get new shocks (probably Tokico Illumina), new radiator, heat coat the header and touch up anything else that may need doing since the engine is coming out.

This may be a bit unrealistic $$$ wise, but I think maybe possible. Could talk to my wife and stretch the budget a bit. :nervous: :D

From what I can see after taking the headers and webers off, there is oil on the stems of the valves and on the valves that a closed. If the engine is going in for work what else should I get done to prolong the life of my engine, tending the budget. I just want to enjoy driving her, not to race her... well maybe a little bit. :cheeky:

Thanks

Luke

Take the entire engine to get worked. Have them rebuild the whole thing. New bearings, rings and gaskets for the block. The head I guess depends on how bad it looks. New valve stem seals for sure. New grind on the valves.

I don't know how far the AU dollar can stretch but It shouldn't cost more than 1,000.

For the rest of your budget you should do the brakes and have the bushings inspected.

Save the rest for those surprises.

Enjoy!
