Just out of curiosity, when did the transition from a 'full size' spare to a 'space saver' spare happen? My 72 has what would have been a full size with the original wheels, but I have seen pics of 280zs with the space saver I believe.

I *think* it happened in '77. If memory serves (and as the years go by, it serves less and less), my 1975 280Z had a full size spare. My '78 does not. There are a lot of changes between 75/76 and 77/78, so I suspect the change came in '77.
