ALWAYS wear a mask when painting

Today i was spray painting various little parts on my intake (ill post pics when its all done and pretty) and i was outside, so i figured i really didnt need a mask. After about 2 hours of painting i went inside to wash up, and suddenly sneezed. BLACK SNOT shot out of my nose! Yuck, well, be careful when painting. :bandit:

Seriously, that's good advice. When I was studying materials chem at uni we learned about sensitisers, which are things that your body will cope with up to a point, before developing an allergic reaction. IIRC paint thinners was a known sensitiser.

If you are spraying some of these paints the stuff will flat out kill you. Rattle can no ,but be carefull . Some of the modern paints have stuff in them that is accumulative and can cause all sorts of nasty ailments later. A filter mask is effective for some things but is not effective in others . Read the label on the can . Two hours painting engine parts ! It's going to look good . Gary I DONT TYPE FAST ENOUGH .

Yeah, when I was filing and using a dremel on my intake, grinding all the casting marks off. After a days work I unfortunately had a similar experience! I reckon it was more metal than snot .
