Just returned home from my 14 hour shift. Glad to see that nobody (except for RB30-Zed, who can see this from both sides) is at all concerned by anything other than their own interests. Copy away, and hope you don't meet someone that cares as much about equal rights under the law as yourself (unless you have already).

Ethics 101 for lawyer wannabes has been dropped from the course schedual for lack of interest. Litigation 104 for revenge and profit is now filling up fast, please have your student ID's and cheese ready.

I sleep well.

You don't think that anybody participating in this thread is concerned about the interests of this site then?

Where does the "revenge" and "profit" come into it?

Alan , I guess you didn't get it.

Like I said the class is closed, I've shot my wad as a lone ranger.

Just wonder if Mike will add anything about "copyrighted materials shall not knowingly be posted here. If any published material on the site is copyrighted it will be removed immediately upon notice" or some such hogwash.

With something to that effect I think we could all feel TRUELY irate if OUR materials were lifted. Or maybe we could just be irate for the hell of it.

Sorry, but I'm done posting on this thread. See you on the real threads amigos.

Sorry guys, I guess I'm not totally up to speed with what you are referring to. Do please remember that I speak a 'foreign' language.

This is no time to be cryptic. How about speaking plainly?

I'm guessing that you both might be hinting at the images that are used as items of discussion on the threads, or to illustrate technical points and/or points of interest - in which case I think this previous comment was relevant:

"Fair Use" / "Fair Dealing" for the purposes of study, research, criticism or review ( as permitted under the terms of most Copyright law ) is usually seen as covering this type of use.

............. If my understanding of this is correct then Carl, I guess videotaping your favourite show for your own little collection is OK. Is it OK for your friends to watch it with you though?? Hmm... I dont know.

Yes, it is legal to allow friends to watch a recording made from cable or satelite programing, so long as you are not charging for the privilege, or showing it in a commercial establishment (bar, etc.)

I've made another change to the gallery. When someone right-clicks on the image it pops up a window with a copyright notice.

I think it is really pathetic that all of the complaining about a FEW people misusing images has caused this feature to be put in place. All it really does is hinder all of the honest people (who are actually flattering you by thinking that your image is so nice that they would like to view it off line) from saving an image to their own hard drive for private, non commercial viewing/reference. The dishonest person is still going to steal your precious image. You've accomplished NOTHING! (except to spoil some of the enjoyment of being a member)

Well, at least the Trolls feel protected! :stupid:

I kind of have to say I agree with Carl on that.

However it's not a big loss for Internet Explorer users you just move the mouse over the image for a few seconds and click on the disk that appears and you can still save the image.

The whole problem is if you can view the picture through HTML you can save the picture it's already on your Hard Drive in the browser cache.

The only thing is achieves is stopping computer illiterate people.
