September 14, 200420 yr comment_95140 Not meaning to make you feel bad Mike I know the effort you go to with this site. Just don't really think it's neccessary. I take that as a compliment. Thanks!! But, actually I saw a need to add some extra effort in this area. Although it did take a few hours to research and develop, the effort wasn't that bad. There were a few comments about how we didn't take action to protect the images, so, I wanted to remedy that. So far, I have done the following to protect your images in the gallery: 1) Right-click does not allow a user to save. 2) Copyright notice on the bottom of the web page. 3) Copyright notice pop-up when someone right-clicks. 4) Watermark on the images. 5) Anti-leeching code that does not allow other websites to display our images on their systems. -- Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/13202-ripped-off/?&page=10#findComment-95140 Share on other sites
September 14, 200420 yr comment_95166 All it really does is hinder all of the honest people from saving an image to their own hard drive for private, non commercial viewing/reference. The dishonest person is still going to steal your precious image.Yar, that's what I was trying to bring up in post #73 on page 5 and again in post #91 on page 7... But no one really seemed interested to discuss that except Steve (sjcurtis) and James (240znz) - thankyou guys. Gav, Michael (mperdue) also noted the popup toolbar in post #80 on page 6. Perhaps you misunderstood though - I know I did!! (sorry Michael!) It is a loophole that will only stop the "naive computer user" as you said.
