50 years ago Nissan set up it's own design department (according to this)! Thought some of you might like this little read:

It featured in the local paper today. But I have a question - how did they.. errmm... design cars before this? Was it all contracted work? Does anybody know?

Thanks...quite interesting. It says that the design department was set up from the car modelling division. Perhaps a hold-over from the old technique of designing the chassis independently of the coachwork?
