Alfadog Posted September 13, 2004 Share #1 Posted September 13, 2004 I know some of you guys are fans of the 2000GT, and I recently came across this great website with a whole LOAD of pictures (don't post them in your gallery please :cheeky:).http://www.ies-geneve.ch/2000gt/It's in French, but hopefully you can navigate your way around easily enough if you're interested. Make sure you click on the galleries!
mperdue Posted September 13, 2004 Share #2 Posted September 13, 2004 Like the corvettes, looks 1000X better with the headlights down. I'm glad the designers of the Z found a way to make it beautiful with the lights out in the open.

HS30-H Posted September 13, 2004 Share #4 Posted September 13, 2004 That's a lovely site. Very nice indeed. But the cheeky sod has lifted some photos from my gallery. Check out the Z432 section. At least two of the photos were taken from this site, but he's chopped of the classiczcars.com watermark. :cheeky: Alan T.

EricB Posted September 13, 2004 Share #6 Posted September 13, 2004 I wish you guys could read french... it's very very interesting....basically i'll give you the quick synopsis:In '68 only 3 cars are imported to the only toyota dealership in the french speaking part of switzerland, it's in geneva. 2 cars (a red and a white one) are sold right away, the remaining white one is kept by the owner of the dealership. It is first registered Nov 15 '68. Unfortunately the dealership goes under & the owner sells the car to the father of the current owner on Nov 17 '71. The car becomes the weekend driver in a family that from then on is fascinated with Japanese cars. His father dies in 2000 and then he receives the car - he's loved. Has every service and repair duly noted and has every intention of keeping it for some time still...Very cool,-e
Gav240z Posted September 13, 2004 Share #7 Posted September 13, 2004 Sounds similar to the story behind my Z but a little less exotic. The original owner has it a few years. Sells it to the father of the guy I bought it off who has it for a while then in 1990 or so she under goes some work a fresh paint job etc. Since then was in the family till around 2001-2002 when i bought her and have no intention of selling for quite some time. Victor Laury Posted September 13, 2004 Share #8 Posted September 13, 2004 Very nice site! Comprable to Rob Beddington's Fairlady Registry site. Loved the Racing histories! Never knew about the Shelby effort before this! Well done. Hey! I can read French better than I can speak it .

Thank you for the link!!Oh yes, and for those who can not read French just use this tool: http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en you will see a spot to just paste in the URL, select the translation (French to English in this case) and it will translate the site for you. kmack Posted September 13, 2004 Share #11 Posted September 13, 2004 But if you want to see one in person, there is a museum here in Texas (just outside of La Grange) that has one. A red one! That is a very beautiful car! Here is the website of the museum: http://www.oldcarcountry.com/
beandip Posted September 13, 2004 Share #12 Posted September 13, 2004 If Toyota brought the car back , they would sell a zillian of them. vary fine looking car , in the day time. Ugly with the head lights up , in my view. At quick glance it look so much link a early Z . You can sure see the influence. What of the engine ? I dont know anything of the car , really . Looks like a duel over haed cam with a flow through design like he Hemi . Are thoes Mikuni tripples ? Gary
