Well, one more braided radiator hose lost, and the auction's not even over!

I have to leave for the weekend in an hour, so I decided, what the heck, I'll live like I have money and throw a $150 bid at it before I leave, and see if anyone tops that in the last couple seconds. Well, it's ALREADY up to $155, and still 6+ hours to go! I just can't compete with that!

Sob. Gripe.  :tapemouth

If Nissan paid more attention to their history and started making these and other hard to find parts again, then they would make a fortune from the members here alone. There would be a lot of happy Zers too. Me included :). Mark, you will get one eventually. Keep looking. Kats told me that he bought his from a lot of parts on ebay. It was hiding in the box and it wasn't in the description, but he could see it in the box. Keep a keen eye and you will find one. These have been popping up on ebay quite a bit. I really like the braided hoses, but the one with the arrow is cool too. Are those still made by Nissan?

Ben

P.S. Yes, I took a stab at Nissan Motor Co.

I guess even if I was in the market for a new OLD radiator hose, I would be concerned about the actual condition of the hose and its reliability!!!! At 30+ years of age (maybe less) we all know what rubber products do.....they get hard and brittle. I don't think I would buy one if I intended to drive the car. A stock concours condition show car....likely would buy the hose. But at over $150.00, I think not. I would think by now, someone would have figured out how to bond a look-a-like webbing over a current issue hose. I would almost bet that some old Britsh car nuts could shead some light on this subject.

Her Majesty has just been informed that the hose will be appearing at the national convention next summer. She is very fond of the car it will go on. It hails from the Banzai Spa, a most respected restoration authority. The buyer told Her Majesty that he thought the sale price was quite reasonable. Can you believe that? Reasonable.....

Her Majesty is pursuing a relationship and has made advances with a fabrics suitor in the Northeast. Some scheme is afoot to cover regular hose with the new fabric (by hand, of course) and I will let you all know how that works out.

Oh...and Ed, the hose was sold by the same guy who sold a lower hose about a month ago. I forget what it went for - $127?
