Posted September 17, 200420 yr comment_95543 Hey, i noticed that from my head gasket to my valve cover (if i named these parts correctly, appears to be way newer than teh rest of teh engine. I was wondering if its stock?it says "nissan OHC" and the oil cap is in Japanese. It looks liek it was plated at one point..and still kinda is...just wondering if its been altered in some way, and is there a way to be able to tell? September 18, 200420 yr comment_95580 The valve cover is cast aluminum which polishes very well. It can be chrome plated but it sounds like it was polished. The head gasket goes between the cast iron engine block (blue) and the cast aluminum head (silver). It sounds like you are looking at an engine that had a valve job recently? October 6, 200420 yr comment_97515 looks like the little bit of the head we can see in the picture is new, would be easier with a picture from the other side of the motor Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/13301-stock-ohc-or-not/#findComment-97515 Share on other sites
