(78 280z) Ok, im in the process of rebuilding my engine. I just got 500 bux that i can spend on parts. So im getting main, and rod bearings, rings, and some other small stuff. There is STD, and 0.25mm (0.010") Which one is for me?

STD is for use on an engine where the crankshaft bearing surfaces DO NOT require machine work to remove grooves or other distortion.

0.25mm (0.010") is for use on an engine where the crankshaft bearing surfaces HAVE BEEN machined 0.25mm smaller in diameter than normal (stock)

Until you know the condition of your crankshaft (examined and measured by a knowledgable automotive machine shop) it is impossible to know which bearings you should purchase to properly rebuild your engine.

You gotta know what the difference in diameter of the crankshaft is to know if you need thicker bearings. Maybe the tech guy can check the tolerances on the bearings for you.

The same goes for the rings , and when you pull the pistons have the wrist pins checked as well . If you replace the rings , you should hone the cylinders also.

all it really needs is a bit of honing (bought the hone). Using stock pistons, and all that, so what size rings would be good?
