seats for 240z

Where is a good place to looks for replacement seats for a 73 240z.

The driver's seat seems to be full of mold or the stuffing is simply coming out in a very fine tan powder. Only the driver seat is a problem. About how much would it be to get it redone compare to buying two newer, more comfortable seats.

Check out Too Intense Restoration. They have alot of material I cound't find in other areas.

It sounds like the tan power is the foam is turning to dust. They have had the replacement foam in the past.

As far as cost goes that will depend on what you want. Orig. or not. You'll spent maybe $200.00 a seat for new foam and uphostery to stay orig. If that is not a concern then you have all kinds of options for non-orig. seats. Both after market or different vehicle model seats, ie. Miata seats fit.

Good luck ,have fun, hope I've helped.

The kits go on exactly as the originals did. It's not a complex job. when you take the seat-backs off, you'll see the metal points that pierce the vinyl material and fix it into place. As you peel the old covers off, you'll see the places the originals were "drawn in" with hog rings (hog ring pliers and rings are at your local hardware store for about $12 max). It's about a 3 hour job to recover the seats. I did it 1 evening in my living room.

Silicon spray? Hey! that's a good idea! I tried to use baby powder as an installation lube. DON'T DO THIS! I had baby powder coming out the vent holes for months!

I was talking Z's with 240ZX the other day and he heard that it helps to leave the covers laying in the sun, to warm them up and help the install process.
