If the car came with A/C from the factory, then wouldn't the controls be under the main vent along with the heater controls like on the 280Z's? I'm sure someone here could elaborate on this further.

Man, the more I look at that car, the more I like it. The interior kind of grows on you. Absolutely beautiful

My 72 is the same combo(brown/tan). Aside from the previous owner completely neglecting the car for years, it isnt a bad combo. The interior doesnt seem to get quite as hot as the all black interior does. I think a blue Z with the tan interior would be okay. But Michael thinks like I do. Green with tan is nice!

According to the ad, the AC was installed aftermarket probably by a shop local to the dealer. They used ARA a lot here in SoCal. The controlls seemed to go wherever the shop decided to put them. (this is an answer to zhead (post #3) and Vicky (post #4)

QUOTE: The original owner's manual and A/C warranty showing 1973 installation date. . .

As far as i know you wouldn't get that with factory air since it would be covered by the car's warranty.

Back in 1981, my first car at 15 y/o was a 73 with the same color combo, but with an automatic and black vinyl top. Very groovy! It was a Texas car that was shipped to Hawaii by a G.I. It had an ARA AC install with the switch installed right below the trip meter reset knob.

Man, I wish I still had that car! :(
