installing a rear swaybar on a '73

I am contemplating the installation of a rear sway bar on my Z . What I am wondering is , is there anyone out there that has done this and what was the difference in handeling and ride? This dosn't appear to be to hard of a Mod. there are what appears to be hangers on the underbody from the factory . This '73 is a vary late car according to the info on the door . I am presently satisfied with the ride but can see where there is room for much improvement in the twisties as I get some bottoming out and body role on hard cornering , I just do not want to sacrifice to much of the good ride in day to day driving. I do not race or plan to ,just want a solid driver. Any info. appriciated thanks.

I too have a 73'. The rear end felt like it would "roll" when I did a lot of cornering. Kind of like

getting on your hands and knees and moving your butt from side to side. Anyway, I installed a rear sway bar from a 74' and used urathane bushings from MSA. Now it feels tight. No more rolling. I can't really say that I sacrificed any ride quality. To me it improved the ride. I did have a problem with the exhaust that was in the way, had to modify that a little.

Ed thanks for the info thats what I was wondering I dident want the ride when normal street driving to be stiffer at least not a great deal stiffer. I realise that there are always trade offs. Thanks again.

I too have a 73 and after I added poly bushings and a rear sway bar I must say its a rock. Drivability is much better as I like to be a little crazy on those country roads. You can also get a 20mm off a 2+2 to retro fit with instal kit #99996-E4010 from motorsport nissan. So I've heard. Im not a racer either but I think you'd be happy with one, you gotta stiffen up the soggy rear end!!
