Hi guys/gals,

The club hats are finally here!! I must say these hats are even better than I imagined. It took us about 6 months to get this project off the ground, but, let me tell you... these things are awesome! We took our time and picked some excellent products. For starters, the hat itself is made of high-quality material by Port Authority. The logo on the front is embroidered with three colors of thread. And, the embroidery is thick and textured. Each section of the logo stands out and feels good to the touch.... The back of the hat also has bold text displaying our club website with pride! This hat is guaranteed to raise conversations and stir the interest of other Z owners and fans.

We went through about 10 different hat designs, 2 embroidery shops, and countless design reviews to bring this high-quality product to the club. If we couldn't do it right, we didn't want to do it at all!

Anyway, I'll post some more information about purchasing information soon. Here are some pictures of the hat....

PS: I want to thank Racegirl for all her help with this project!! Without her, this project would still be sitting on my "to-do" list... Thanks!

Pentax Optio 33L ( 3.2 Mega Pixels) Same one that I used on our Mt. Hamilton trip. For it's low price it seems to do a fairly good job.

two more questions, about how long do the batteries last? and when you click the button to take the picture, does it take it right away like a regular camera or does it pause for 2 or 3 seconds?

I thought the hat patch was going to have the Club slogan on it also; "Pride, Performance, Preservation". That would have really been cool. Oh, well, it still looks really nice. Good job!

I agree, window stickers would be cool too, but withthe slogan!!!

It pauses for a couple of seconds before the pic is taken, like other Digital camera I know about. Makes it a bitch to photograph anything in motion (like race cars or airplanes).

Batteries, well, there are several answers. It can run on Alkyline AA batts, but they do not last very long. You can get Lithium type AA batts and they last a decent length of time, but cost more, or you can buy the special camera batteies that cost even more, but are not much better than the Lithium AA's. I tend to use Alkyline AA's around home cause they are cheap, but use Lithium AA's when travelling. (easier than carying spare batteries)

Please don't hurt me if they don't get there by the weekend. :surprised I mailed them last night so hopefully all goes well. Have a great time this weekend anyway.

I use rechargable nickel metal hydride batteries, Panasonic or Everready Energizer, in my digital camera. They seem to outlast any non-rechargable I have ever tried. But as far as how long they last, that seems to vary from camera to camera.

Racegirl: I ordered my hats Saturday 10/23 about 6pm PST so I guess I was too late for the first round of shipping. I guess they'll show up by the weekend.

Hi Marty, thanks for the kudos. The slogan wasn't put on the logo because of the embroidery. The embroidery is pretty thick and the text didn't work well. So we decided to pull the text from inside the logo.

Hey Stephen,

I did get your order on Saturday and I actually made several trips to the post office so I could mail out all the orders that came in that day. It just may not have gotten picked up out of the "box" until Monday. And some places it took longer to get there then others for some weird reason. I remember yours because you live in Fontana and that's where my Nascar men race!!! And I want to see that track someday. Anywayyy...I think it said you should have it by Friday. My question to USPS is how can one package make it to Florida in two days and another mailed the same day to California not get there for a week? If anyone works for the post office, please help me with this question.

You should have the hats by Friday. I hope you like them. Thanks for the order.

Racegirl Jenn (go #18)

Wow, a week to get to Fontana I guess the USPS doesn't have any trucks or planes flying between Oregon, Nor Cal and So Ca. :stupid: I must admit that I was kinda shocked that my hat arrived on Monday, but HEY, I figure they (USPS) owed me some service anyway.

Carl,

I'm glad you're pleased with the hat. It's nice to see the creation become reality. I thought we'd never get them completed. Whew! :paranoid:
