Hi guys/gals,

The club hats are finally here!! I must say these hats are even better than I imagined. It took us about 6 months to get this project off the ground, but, let me tell you... these things are awesome! We took our time and picked some excellent products. For starters, the hat itself is made of high-quality material by Port Authority. The logo on the front is embroidered with three colors of thread. And, the embroidery is thick and textured. Each section of the logo stands out and feels good to the touch.... The back of the hat also has bold text displaying our club website with pride! This hat is guaranteed to raise conversations and stir the interest of other Z owners and fans.

We went through about 10 different hat designs, 2 embroidery shops, and countless design reviews to bring this high-quality product to the club. If we couldn't do it right, we didn't want to do it at all!

Anyway, I'll post some more information about purchasing information soon. Here are some pictures of the hat....

PS: I want to thank Racegirl for all her help with this project!! Without her, this project would still be sitting on my "to-do" list... Thanks!

The speedway here in Fontana is a state of the art facility. I went to the inaugural event there 6/21 & 6/22/97. Saw the Busch, IROC, and Winston Cup races. I still have a copy of the tickets on my garage wall. Been there 5 other times since. It's only about two miles from my house. No rush on the hats. My late father worked for USPS and I remember some of the stories he told about it. Based on that, it's no surprise that the shipping times can be somewhat inconsistent.

Hi Jmark,

You're right, I've got 5 tickets and were in Fri, Sat. & Sunday! Just hope the rain stops. It's coming down like gang busters here in Fontana right now.

Also, the Japan GT Championship (JGTC) races are Dec. 18th & 19th we'll be there with about 20 to 30 other Zs infield having fun! Anyone interested let me know.

Marc:

You have to blame the USPS and/or other countries Mail Service for the high cost. I know from recent experience that it cost me $13.25 USD to send a 1 pound package from the Bay Area to Ontario province in Canada by Air Mail Parcel Post. (7 to 10 day delivery) Economy Parcel Post (4 to 6 weeks delivery) is even higher ($15.25 USD). The 1 lb rate is the minimum rate. Packaging materials (boxes/tape/labels) must be factored in to arrive at the real cost of any shipment.

I know it sucks, but it is not Mike or Jennifer's fault.

PS: The USPS website quotes $14.50 USD as postage for the same package to Australia, $14.00 USD to Germany.

We can send a bunch of pre-orders to an area, for instance, Australia. And then the s&h could be split up. Of course, the rate may go up if the box is heavier, but would still be cheaper then paying $15 per order. So if you're near someone else and can do this, it may be the way to go. Just a thought.

For our friends in Australia, maybe you should look into 'Australia Post.' I used them to have the wheel for my 810 shipped from there to here and they substantially beat anything the USPS, FedEx, or 'Brown' could do. They can do up to 20kg from there to here 'economy air' for $7 AUD. That's about $5.25 USD. I just don't know how that works shipping from here to there.
