Posted October 5, 200420 yr comment_97351 It occurred to me today (thanks to a friend who pointed it out) that the Watanabe logo (the three birds - ducks was it?) looks strangely similar to three "Rebel" logos from Star Wars. I'm not a Star Wars fan so sorry if I got some terminology wrong... Hmm, I found it kinda funny. October 5, 200420 yr comment_97371 The steering wheel made and sold by Watanabe is the "Falcon". Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/13516-watanabe-millennium-falcon/#findComment-97371 Share on other sites
October 5, 200420 yr comment_97372 Victor,I have a round decal that says "Falcon - Racing Service Factory" around the edge and the logo in the middle. It is still in the envelope labeled original sticker. What's that all about? October 5, 200420 yr Author comment_97418 Victor - haha I had not thought of that! At least one of the 80s style Watanabe rims was called a "Falcon" too... Chris - Anything like this? http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b54894393 Sounds like you got a little Watanabe sticker Now I guess you'll just have to get the wheels to match?? October 5, 200420 yr comment_97429 I looked all over for a photo of the Falcon steering wheel and came up blank. You didn't miss much, It is EXACTLY like a Nardi, EXACTLY like a Toms Racing, just the three swans in the horn button set it apart from the others Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/13516-watanabe-millennium-falcon/#findComment-97429 Share on other sites
October 5, 200420 yr Author comment_97432 Hm, Victor were you directing that to me? If so, I know what they look like Quite nice I think, but like you said - a little generic. If you weren't, here are some pics anyway (good old Yahoo Auctions ) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/13516-watanabe-millennium-falcon/#findComment-97432 Share on other sites
October 6, 200420 yr comment_97439 Victor were you directing that to me?No. Just talking about the thread in general. Yep! that's the kind of photo I was looking for. Good research method Lachlan! I couldn't find one. Now that I see it again, I think I gave it a bum wrap, it's better looking than I made it sound. October 6, 200420 yr comment_97485 Good looking - wow!!! Wanna trade my mahagony Momo for that? What a nice steering wheel! That is the exact sticker I have, Lachlan. It came with the wheels, lug nuts and center caps when I bought them for Her Majesty. October 6, 200420 yr Author comment_97532 are you teasing me? Nice wheel (I love the round holes - I want to get a wheel like that except sans wood), but I meant pictures of the other wheels :devious: I assumed they were Watanabes... are they?
