OT: Honey Bee to be hacked on Monster Garage

I just read on Yahoo Groups that this '76 B210 is going to get trashed on Monster Garage. I don't know what they're going to do with it, but once it's done it's no longer going to be the gem it is right now. Sad day for Datsun fans if you're into Sunnys anyway. I thought some of you may be interested.

Here in SoCal, we have a Datsun Mechanic, a bit of a stoner, but a well respected wrench. His proudest day was when he got his perfect, bone stock, grandma-driven-bingo-only, HoneyBee. I remember, three (?) years ago at the Deer Park Show, he came RUNNING up to me, "Vic! Ya gotta check out my HoneyBee!"

Some will cry when Monster Garage cuts up that little 210.

I think that was 2002. I remember him asking why there was no 'HoneyBee' class. :)

Monster Garage: A TV show that Must

1)Find some piece of complete and useable and or easily restorable vehicle,

2)Hack it to pieces

3)Break all glass, all plastic, cut all sheet metal-destroying all useable parts that will not be "modified".

4)Use only the smallest portion of the original vehicle(a 2 foot section of military Jeep frame on the now running show is all that was used from a complete and running vehicle).

5)Give the entire project a small budget put to keep it doable by "anybody".

6)Complete the project only with the use of obscenely expensive sponsor-donated stuff to make sure no "anybody" can do it.

7)Pat the "Builders" on the back for destroying a restorable vehicle that someone was desperately hunting for to put back to its glory days

8)After the "build" is complete and run, blow the crap out of it with major explosives or a suitable substitute to be sure that even the smallest part of it is unuseable.

Did I mention the "Budget"?

Sort of like a demolition Derby but with tools and explosives.

Sorry, didn't mean to introduce you to a bludger using tools on a filmed bucks night to come a guster with a car and london to a brick mean to make a bingle, and then think it is sick!

Oh well, to each his own-just don't let them think to try to cut up a Z!
