Turbo Conversion .. '78 280Z.. N47 stock block and head.... building a list

I have been extremely interested in a turbo conversion for my 1978 280Z.

I have been searching around for a few years now on this site...

and I understand it's better to just swap in a 280ZXT engine into my car..

but my engine is running VERY strong and has only 100,000 miles on it.

I would trust my engine ALOT more than a junkyard one, and i figured would be cheaper.

But I am gathering a list of stuff that I need:

( i just need help to see if I miss anything)

Turbo Exhuast Manifold

Turbocharger and Wastegate

Oil Lines

Vacuum thinngy (what is the vacuum thing I need? what is it called?)

Turbo Injectors

Intercooler

Intercooler Piping

Downpipe

Turbo AFM

60mm TB

Now I understand I will have to tap into my stock oil pan, or get a turbo oil pan.

I hope to use a Z31 ECU or just go for MegaSquirt or SDS.

Do I need another oil pump to pump the oil to the turbo?

Am I missing anything else?

I would add, P90 or P90A head, Oil Cooler and adaptor, Wastegate, Turbo Oil Pump(Get the JY turbo engine and pull the parts off it-no scrounging, 1 stop shopping.)

You will also need a better radiator-the narrow Camero Aluminum radiator-952 if memory serves. I bought mine from Penn Radiator off the internet, $63 with shipping several years ago. Keep the pistons from the turbo-spec them out and have them ready when you turn up the boost too much, or don't have enough fuel, or you timing is too advanced. You might also upgrade the alternator with the one from a turbo engine, and the starter with one of the gear reduction units from the ZX.

One note, when looking for a turbo engine, look for an auto tranny car, the engine stands a much better chance of being in good shape.

Will

P.S. Which parts have you got?

I swapped using a 183k junkyard motor and it still runs strong and I autocross it and beat it senceless, but if you perfer to stick with your engine, you really only need the exhaust, turbo(wastegate is internal), downpipe, injectors, you can use the injected intake of your choice, and if your gonna go stand alone you won't need any of the electronic's, as for the oil pump, I think the unit itself puts out a touch more volume, but your gonna want to lockdown your dist, if you choose to use the turbo opticle dist you'll need the turbo oil pump drive shaft as it's different from every other datsun shaft
