Zrush Posted October 20, 2004 Share #1 Posted October 20, 2004 This is a topic that we've discussed many times with numerous "other" automobile fanatics. The letter Z is a registered trademark of Nissan, so does that mean that no other company, auto or whatever is allowed to use the letter Z, by itself in their products? The Z28 came before our 240Z's but Chevrolet never refered to their camaro as "The Z". BMW has a Z3 (or is it a Z4) but the number follows the letter. The corvette Z06. Do you see what I mean. All other companys seem to have some other letter or number proceeding or following the letter Z. Is that because Nissan has a trademark on the letter Z. Any opinions or comments.Vicky
Ed Posted October 20, 2004 Share #2 Posted October 20, 2004 While were at it could someone post a picture of the "Z" logo. I've been trying to find one that isn't partially obstructed. Can't find one in the gallery either. I want to print one and get a tatoo. :classic:

This way I can enjoy it.Hey Ed, I'm confused about "mirror image". Can you explain. I took the photo of my arm in a mirror so that's why its backwards but you all knew that anyway. My wife surprised me two years ago for my birthday and said "lets go get you a tattoo." You'll have to show pictures when you get yours done. Ed Posted October 21, 2004 Share #9 Posted October 21, 2004 Most of your own personal tattoo's depending on location can only be enjoyed when viewed in the mirror. Since I will be the one looking at my tattoo the most, why not have it in a way that I can enjoy it. The location I have chosen is the backside of my forearm. Hard to see unless I look in the mirror. Hard to see unless I look in the mirror. Thanks Ed, I usually wear tank tops in the summer so mine gets a lot of exposure. Good idea on the forearm. I once thought about going Ozzy and doing 240Z across my knuckles but then I sobered up!! :classic: Have you given any thought to your color scheme? TomoHawk Posted October 21, 2004 Share #11 Posted October 21, 2004 The Z used by Chevy is actually spelled "Z/28", which was the designation for the powerplant, drivetrain, suspention and other options used on that model Camaro. IMO, referring to "Z" for your Datsun only happens as an affectual way to abbreviate the line of Z-family cars. I'll bet the BMW people refer to their Z3s and Z4s as "Z-cars." Maybe they don't know or don't care about the Datsun Zs?
MikeW Posted October 21, 2004 Share #12 Posted October 21, 2004 Something strange that I've noticed but don't quite understand is related to domain names on the Internet. Obviously shorter names are more desirable. You would think that the ultimate would be something like http://www.a.com; alas, that name is not in use - it must not be allowed for some reason. The same holds true for almost every single letter of the alphabet. There is only one letter that is used all by itself as a domain name: http://www.z.com
