The 240Z and tall people

Hey,

How tall are most of you guys? I'm 6'2" and I'm wondering if I will be able to fit well into the Z. Last time I sat in one (I dont own one of these beauties yet, hopefully in good time I will) I think it was pretty tight but not so tight it was unconfortable, I wasn't driving the car so that might make a difference. I guess my questin is how tall is TOO tall?

Thanks

Chris

I'm 6' 6" and find there's enough space... way more than most modern cars. I am thinking of maybe a smaller diameter steering wheel for just a pinch more room to move my left leg around when using the clutch. If I was any taller it would be a squeeze. Nothing like my old college roommate's VW Beetle. I had to put both legs to the left of the steering wheel to shift into first. Once I was out of first I was never going back. The glovebox door had dents in it from my knees pushing against it when I rode in the passenger seat. My daily driver is a full size Chevy Pickup K1500 Silverado.

There is very good reason why you blokes can all fit in the Z! It was specifically designed that way. I quote Kats, a member on this board who is currently away:

I remember Mr.MATSUO wanted to lower the 240Z's roof about 3inch less than production model. If the 240Z had lower roof, would it be nice?I do not know.Mr.MATSUO argued with Mr.UEMURA (who was a chief of chassis and mechanical design) again and again and again about the hight of 240Z.Mr.MATSUO wanted lower,Mr.UEMURA wanted higher. Finally both yielded each other.240Z's roof hight is a compromise result.

...

...Mr.UEMURA and his team got the average height of the U.S. airforce officer. The average data of 15,000 officers.Mr.UEMURA used this data to persuade Mr.MATSUO.

Mr.UEMURA felt Mr.MATSUO was so obstinate.Mr.UEMURA had a confidence if S30 has this height(a bit taller than a production model)S30 can cover 97.5% of U.S. citizen according this average data.Mr.UEMURA was ready if Mr.MATSUO accepted this height,

Mr.UEMURA could offer so much hard work of chassis design to reduce height as lower as he could,to make Mr.MATSUO happy and not to destroy body styling.

Finaly Mr.MATSUO accept the 97.5% concept,he accept 2 inch lower not 3 inch,Mr.UEMURA offered to solve 1 inch by chassis design.

I'm 5'7" and need stilts to reach the pedals. The horn pad makes a permanent mark on my chest because I have to scoot the seat so far forward. Look like "Kilroy was here" peeking over the steering wheel. Six footers should have no problem at all. Not complaining, still plenty of fun to drive. LOL Victor.

I'm 5'7" also but I don't have these problems. Victor, have you installed the round plastic seat spacers that Nissan supplied to raise your seats? Is your bottom foam webbing (or springs if you have a latter 240Z) in good shape? Both of these conditons could cause the "Kilroy" syndrome.
