I'm 5'3", and thankfully used to sitting 'back' when I drive, since I have the seat pushed all the way forward and still can barely reach the pedals.

WIDE is another story. My husband bodybuilds, and when he sits in the car the door hits in teh arm when he closes it.

Biggest snag with this car is getting in and out in a graceful manner (try it with heels and a tight skirt (girls only, unless you guys want to end up in World's Funniest Drivers'.

I am 6'4" with a long upper body. I removed the adjusting rails and mounted the seat lower and farther back using 1x1/4 inch flatstock. I also added double spacers with long mounting screws available from MOMO to move my steering wheel back so I am not doing a Fangio straight arm steering style. The Z and my work Ford Van are the only 2 cars I really fit in.

Stevemasum,

I was exagerating a bit, but your sugestions are right on. I do have some spacers installed and my seat is pretty much totally collapsed, so I know I would benefit from re-strapping and re-foaming, but can't spare the moolah at the moment. But it's on the list along with re-upholster. Thanks, Victor.

I'm 6'1, and slightly stocky (used to weightlift and was in crew for a bit) and I fit great, just the door is touching along my upper arm - not too shabby! I can even wear my fedora while I drive. I have the seat all the way back, and it's the first car that I never felt the desire to redo the seat mounts to make it further back. I drive a 12/77 280z 2+2. (I _can_ fit into the rear seat, but I ain't staying back there!)

Cheers!

  • 3 weeks later...

im about 6'5" and yeah, as above no problems..

however, when you start getting in to aftermarket seats you will run in to some issues, mostly to do with the bulge just behind the drivers seat and the fact that the Z seats have been designed to fit around this bulge..

when you move to seats which dont have a gap to fit that bulge (almost all aftermarket seats) you wont be able to move the seat far back enough to sit comfortably or even at all.

I ended up dismantling the seats and adding the aftermarket back to the Z base and having them retrimmed to match.. i've been very happy with the results but a bit of stuffing around none the less..

LOL.. enough rambling.. yeah, you'll fit
