v12horse Posted October 26, 2004 Share #1 Posted October 26, 2004 Here is a nice set of Watanabe's that need a little bit of restoring. I have seen better prices, but 700USD would not be outragous for these wheels if the seller is being honest about the others not having bad scratches. I would request more pictures. This is a great offset for a S30, as it is the recommended size for the front of a non-flared S30. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7930635878&category=43954&sspagename=WDVW-Ben
seerex Posted October 26, 2004 Share #2 Posted October 26, 2004 wow guess am a bit out of touch with the market for the watanabe's but that seems pricey , I guess they are getting so hard to find now its driving up the price
v12horse Posted October 26, 2004 Author Share #3 Posted October 26, 2004 I have seen sets cheaper, but it seems that the more desireable the size and offset, the more they cost. You are right though, the price is not great. If there was no curb rash, then it would not be bad. There was a set of 14 by 6.5 type B's that were selling for 600 that were in great shape, but I am not sure if they sold.
seerex Posted October 26, 2004 Share #4 Posted October 26, 2004 You are very right the rare offsets and size makes them very desireable, I am having the same problem finding the right set of ssr formula mesh wheels , i find them but not in the size offset or hug configuration I need , supply and demand
seerex Posted October 26, 2004 Share #5 Posted October 26, 2004 this might be an alternativehttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7929902947&category=43955
v12horse Posted October 26, 2004 Author Share #6 Posted October 26, 2004 Those RS-8's are nice looking wheels. They are a nice combination old school cool with a modern twist. I really like the silver ones. The SSR mesh wheels are really nice? Are the wheels still being produced? Here is a pic of a car with some really nice SSR mesh wheels. I believe they are the SSR reverse mesh, but I am not sure. What size and offset are you looking for? I hope you find a set. They really are nice looking wheels. seerex Posted October 26, 2004 Share #7 Posted October 26, 2004 I love the ssr mesh but the price doesn't love me, I was trying to price them from the japanese website and I was getting very depressed, I have a guy in the states that says no prob with getting them but I am afraid to call , i might pull out my visa and regret it later , not sure of the offset but I am trying for 16's but new they only make 17's and 15's . I am just gonna wait and hope they come up for sale for a reasonable price . Jeff

v12horse Posted October 26, 2004 Author Share #9 Posted October 26, 2004 Some of those prices aren't too bad and some seem outragous. Thanks for the link. Here is a link to the Work equip website. They make 3 really nice looking old school type wheels. http://www.worksuperwheels.com/wheels/equip_01.html http://www.worksuperwheels.com/wheels/equip_03.html http://www.worksuperwheels.com/wheels/equip_02.html I would personally go with 14" or 15" wheels, but I like a lot of rubber. Take care, Ben
Alfadog Posted October 26, 2004 Share #10 Posted October 26, 2004 I love the Equip 4 spokes. I love Watanabes more though Here are a few links to wheels I really like. I'm not too great with all the names, but I know what I like! http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h17326399 http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h16919682 http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k5398138 http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k7926342 http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k6155139 http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n8800270 (:cheeky:)
Victor Laury Posted October 26, 2004 Share #11 Posted October 26, 2004 I was looking at the Works when I was shopping. I was a bit diconscerned that they did not have a specs page that listed the size/width/offset (s) availible. BTW, that roadster photo Must be photoshopped. The only way to get that much lip under a roadster would be to shorten the axles/tub the body or flair the fenders like crazy.
v12horse Posted October 26, 2004 Author Share #12 Posted October 26, 2004 The last link is the set I like most. The 4 spoke Watanabe's are nice looking too. Victor, your Mk's are really nice. Have any JDM enthusiasts commented on the wheels? I have only seen pictures of them.
