GOOD GRIEF GEORGE,

Why, WHY,WHY,by all the Gods that mankind has ever worshipped, would you even CONSIDER trading your lovely Z for a Mustang ???????????????????????????????

Go to just about any car show and Mustangs are like heads.

EVERYBODY'S got one !!!!!!!!! ROFLLOL

Seriously mate, I hope you don't decide to sell your lovely lady. However, if you do, I'm sure you will have considered the decision very carefully.

And, ummm, I'll still talk to you mate. LOLROFL

Rick.

I doubt fast-backs would be more common in Australia.. but really the rarity of a car shouldn't be the reason to own one IMO.

Personally, I don't see anything in Mustangs. Nice bit of history, but a bit boring. The Mach 1 and hotter versions like that are "cool", but still just appear as a hunk of metal with a great big motor in it to me. Rather have something that was engineered to perfection, like the 240Z. :)

I trust you to make the right decision George!!

Well recently I've seen more fastbacks than 240z's apart from when i have those VicZcar meetings of course. If i do see a 240z (very rare) more like a 260z 2 seater is the norm they are usually pretty rough looking. When i see a Mustang they are always restored or well looked after.

As Z's get on in age they are going to become more expensive and sort after I think its worth keeping for a while. Mustangs are not the best handling car and it would be slower than your Z unless "ALOT" of money has gone into it.

As Alfa says we trust you'll make the right decision :)

Ok George lets get serious,

Go and actually drive a fastback then hop back into your zed and make your decision. Theres no way an old heap of crap like that will even come close to matching the driving experience of your zed. yours has been built to drive hard and fast. go stop and handle like a real sports car.

if you want an under-engineered lump of metal on wheels then by all means.... but you'll be spending alot more money to buy a car thats a whole lot slower

DONT DO IT!!!!!!

Well it’s been a while since I thought of selling my car so I thought I’d resurrect this thread. I am so glad I didn’t sell her! I now realise how much this car means to me after not having driven her since June. She’s been in one shop or another gutted out and I myself feel empty without her. My family wonders why I spend most of my money on a car. I try to explain it to them but I always seem to fail. I was wondering myself and I realise it’s not just any car. It’s rare, sexy, desirable, historical, wondrous… and I’ll stop there before I get carried away. Even my friends don’t understand why. But in the end this car is for me, they don’t need to understand, just accept.

I’m counting the days until I get her back. It’s been forever and a day…

Glad to hear you kept her. The reason I even got in on this thread was when I first started on this site I was going thru the pics of cars and fell in love with yours. I had some ideas of what I wanted to do and then i saw yours and WOW. I wanted to shave the rear bumper, and I love the subtle rear flares with the big meats, and RED paint. I had a red 71 and sold when I was young and didn't realize what a unique, beautiful car these are. I have another 71 now and will never sell. Its definitely a personal decision and I think you will be happy keeping it. Either way I had to say how much I like that car, please post more pics when you can
