An Offer on my Z

That Ozzy Guy

Recommended Posts

Well it’s been a while since I thought of selling my car so I thought I’d resurrect this thread. I am so glad I didn’t sell her! I now realise how much this car means to me after not having driven her since June. She’s been in one shop or another gutted out and I myself feel empty without her. My family wonders why I spend most of my money on a car. I try to explain it to them but I always seem to fail. I was wondering myself and I realise it’s not just any car. It’s rare, sexy, desirable, historical, wondrous… and I’ll stop there before I get carried away. Even my friends don’t understand why. But in the end this car is for me, they don’t need to understand, just accept.

I’m counting the days until I get her back. It’s been forever and a day…

George,

You have come to the right people to share these feelings. I get this same thing a lot, especially from the wife. You've got "Z Fever". It's a chronic disease that NEVER goes away. I was first infected in 1980 when I saw a friend's 240Z. After a short time I had to have one. Bought a 73 and restored it and spent a ton of money on it till it got totalled in '87. I got married, had kids and a house and thought the Z Fever had gone away. WRONG!! It was 11 years later and it returned stronger than ever. I just had to have another Z. Now I have two 240Z's! I will not willingly give them up. They are already written into my will to pass on to my kids when I am gone. Resign yourself to the fact that you can't get rid of Z Fever and just savor the car while you can.
