Zrush Posted November 2, 2004 Author Share #38 Posted November 2, 2004 Maybe it would be better if they assigned viewers a chair and all of the cars drove by you, in order by model. Yes! Perfect! The "floating" directors chair. The car drives up, stops on a lift. Owner exits proceeds to open the doors, hatch and hood, then walks away. We, in our floating directors chair (of course, with cup holder) have a lever to position our inspection chair to go over, under and around the car. All non S30 vehicles drive up on what they think is the lift, but we fool them and it's actually a trap door, thus thinning out the riff-raff that we, as lazy spectators, don't want to view. Brilliant!! Vicky
Chino 240Z Posted November 2, 2004 Share #39 Posted November 2, 2004 Sounds like a cool Playstation-2 game! "MSA-2005" with options of a car show, dyno-run, and a feature to test drive each others Zs on and off the track, with and without mods!
Zrush Posted November 9, 2004 Author Share #40 Posted November 9, 2004 Anybody get the little flyer yet from MSA about next years show? I was told they were mailing them out last week. I've checked the site for registration info and nothings there Vicky
Zrush Posted January 10, 2005 Author Share #41 Posted January 10, 2005 It sure would be nice if MSA would get the registration up on their site. I remember we were registerd in November or December of 2002 for the 2003 show. I've e-mailed Greg an they said the 1st of January we should be able to get registered. If they claim the show is going to be massive because of the 10th anniversary, you'd think they'd get the forms on line. If I knew for sure the host hotel was going to be the Ramada again, I'd go ahead and at least book a room. Oh well, I'm sure they're working on it.Don't forget to wear you CZC hat so we'll recognize fellow memebers :classic: Vicky

Zrush Posted January 19, 2005 Author Share #43 Posted January 19, 2005 Hey WillI've e-mailed them and last response was that they'd be taking phone registrations the week of 1/24/05 and online registrations the week of 1/31/05. I keep checking the site too. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Is your Z going to be ready to rock?Vicky
ZIII Posted January 19, 2005 Share #44 Posted January 19, 2005 Any ideas or suggestions of hotels to stay in the area???
240ZX Posted January 19, 2005 Share #45 Posted January 19, 2005 Well, this year I definitely plan on attending the MSA 50th Annv. show, but I do not plan on entering the show due to my previous experiences......long lines, confusion, getting put in the south forty every year even when details had been arranged to park with fellow members, and having to wait around until you can leave the show area. I'm just going to be a spectator this year! Most likely I'll have a bit more time to actually get around and visit others this year. I will however, miss talking to people and answering their questions about my Z and the things I've done to it. Anyway, it will be a good experience anyway you look at it. I read one suggestion someone made about improving the show, that suggested grouping the cars by model years so its not a big mishmash of all......and please leave anything that's not a Z at home....it's a Z car show!!! Looking forward to meeting some of you folks this year. :nervous:
Zrush Posted January 19, 2005 Author Share #46 Posted January 19, 2005 Any ideas or suggestions of hotels to stay in the area???They normally have a host hotel which gives show participants discounts. When we went in 2003 it was the Ramada. But there are many hotels on Katella avenue because of Disney Land being right down the road. It's nice if we all stay at the same hotel so we can meet up, party and see each other cars without the mob scene at MSA.Vicky
Bambikiller240 Posted January 19, 2005 Share #47 Posted January 19, 2005 Any ideas or suggestions of hotels to stay in the area???MSA is just a few miles from Disneyland. There are probably "hundreds" of hotels/motels in the nearby area. EDIT: I see ZRush beat me to it.I shopped on Expedia.com and was able to view pictures of the various hotels/motels in the area, they had accurate sample room pictures also.IMO the Ramada (host hotel) was overpriced even with the "discount". Plus the block of "discounted" rooms was sold out at least 6 weeks prior to the show.
sblake01 Posted January 19, 2005 Share #48 Posted January 19, 2005 I'm with you, 240ZX. I'll be there this year also but only as a spectator. Every year I've been there I've been parked on a side street with beat up 510s, roadsters, etc. My car is nicer than some of the cars that they allow to park on the main street. And I show up early. They definately have some sort of priority parking arrangement. The event has outgrown the venue but there's no chance they'll move it considering where their store is! Those parking lots on the side street are closer to the show than where MSA has put me the three years I've attended and those businesses are closed on Sunday. That's where I'll be parked.
