Check this out. I was really suprized to see this on ebay. I have never seen one of these cars, but I have read a little bit about them. Supposedly, there is a great one in the UK. I would love to see this car. I hear they rev like motorcycles! What a find! This car would go great next to a Z in someones garage.

Ben :)

Keep the 60' and 70' performance japanese cars coming, whenever one is posted someone [usually alan] comes up with interesting tidbits regarding said cars. I wonder if anyone has seen one is Australia? Hmm...

I'll second that!

Kings Langley area, Sydney ~1987.....A neighbour had an electric blue one with a black top from memory. It was a daily driver parked in the street each night!! I remember thinking how tiny it was, and the resemblance to the 2000 GT. Then there was the 2000 GT that had been fitted with a Leyland V8, sometime during the early eighties. Sutherland shire ...again from memory. This car suffered an interior fire at a beachside carpark. I heard recently Someone had located the original motor and gearbox stashed at a panel beaters, and is planning to re unite the car with it's driveline. Usual thing though, all very secretive and hard to confirm :disappoin

There was one competing in Targa Tasmania last year actually! A Japanese team, unfortunately it rolled over. http://www1.odn.ne.jp/~car32160/2004%20TARGA%20TASMANIA%20RALLY.htm is their webpage, it takes a while to load but make sure you see the pic about half way down!

Hey it wasnt alan this time! God i wished i lived on the east coast sometimes...But why on earth a Leyland v8?!?!? Absoloute blasphemy...Id really love to see how the project comes along, but i guess its all a bit unconfirmed as you said. All very interesting to hear anyway (=.

Cheers for the link, Lachaln. I hate to see when beautifully kept and restored cars get annihilated in the targa! But its cool it made an appearance, i wonder how it went prior to the crash...?

What a fantastic car. It's so pristine  Reminds me of my friends '74 TVR. That little Toyota looks like it's just popped out of a time machine. Don't believe I've ever seen one before. Bravo on the link Ben :classic:
