Heading over to the Veterans Memorial to drop off all the donations collected to be going to troops in Iraq. Turn out so far has been overwhelming. It would have been great to have it on the college campus and have the students get involved but the far left faculity assholes will not have it.

They only want queer groups , athiests, and pro infanticide groups. They are welcome to those, but no Conseratives allowed. Gee state run college too.

W claims he has a mandate to continue his suicidal (not for him but for the US as a whole) program for change. He has the support of about 51% of the people WHO VOTED. If an elected politician gets 75% or 80% of the vote, they have a mandate. W does not represent half of the population of the US. He has no mandate. Of course, he had no mandate the last time either.

The "faculity" has little to do with student activities on the state campus where I work. Those are usually organized by... I don't know, maybe the students? Also, donation drives don't normally go over too well with students as they don't normally have much to donate in the first place. Either that or it's because they're a bunch of queer, athiest, baby killers. you conservative/fundies crack me up! Thanks for the laughs!

Carl, even if the un-informed don't vote now the present system GIVES THEM A VOTE. Besides, do you really believe that everybody that DID vote was informed?????

The vote given by the present system to those who didn't vote themselves is a blind vote. IMO not the brightest idea in the world.

Of course I don't believe that everyone who did vote was informed. But, I am positive that almost everyone who didn't vote is un-informed (to a greater or lesser degree). If they were informed, they would realize and understand that by not voting they have given their power to influence the election to someone else. IMO not the brightest idea in the world. I think you need a reality check about modern universities in the United States. I go to the University of Texas, and anyone who has been here will tell you this is by far one of the most liberal colleges in the south. The college republicans, and tons of other conservative student organizations still operate here just like all the liberal ones. Sure, many of the conservative ones are outnumbered by their liberal counterparts, but they are by no means forbidden to hold gatherings and preach their beliefs just like everyone else.

I have had a lot of left-wing professors, but I respect their opinions as much as I have my conservative ones. Why? Because I am not bothered by ideas I do not agree with.

Your hatred for homosexuals, atheists, and pro-choice supporters is a whole other topic, so I will avoid hitting on that further.

It should be noted that not all universities are full of "far left faculity assholes." All the other large universities that I can think of in Texas would fall into the conservative column.

Young people will have an opinion on politics (some will anyway) and their interests are obviously a lot different than people nearing retirement. As such, they may wish to throw their support behind a different candidate than you. That does not mean their minds are all full of garbage.

280z's post was obviously out of hand as far as the swearing goes : that is almost never a good way to get your point across. He is right however in that it is often far too easy for us to forget over here in the USA what our foreign policy causes elsewhere.

I voted for Kerry, not because I liked him as a candidate, but because I disliked Bush more.

The way I see it, if I have to walk past a group of christian fundamentalists at the edge of campus (every week) preaching gospel and getting in my face to tell me I am going to burn in the firey pits of hell for all eternity for not being christian, then I think it is only fair that pro-choice, atheist, and homosexuals be able to express their constitutional rights as well.

This is true, when you only have X amount of money saved up for the semester, donations really go below feeding yourself and paying the bills.

When I am near the campus I talk to students who let me know about the

political agendas. So I do not need your checks.

The turn out was great & some university students came over with things they did not buy but they got donated by businesses.

You should have seen the vans with mom and kids donating items.

Got to talk to some main stream democrats even. Wonderful people. The real heart and soul of America. Not the French part.

I was talking to one couple who said they were moderate democrats. I asked what they thought the far left of their party, you know Kerry, Ted Kenndy, Howard Dean, Chuck Shumer and others.

The wife says well... hesitates, then she says we call them the latte Democrats. I said latte. She says you know drinking the latte with the pinkie finger up in the air.

Whether you care or not doesn't concern me, but I'm letting you know that I have reported this post. I don't know about the other members, but I'm not going to tolerate this kind of attack. And save your 1st Amendment rights lecture because no one has to tolerate your attacks. I don't know much about you, but it's plain that your opinions are based solely on emotion and not a thoughtful consideration of the facts.

If those of us "partisipating" in the thread wanted him reported we would have done so. His choice of words negitively impacted his position in the eyes of many, but no one reported him. If you were really offended, couldn't you have just chosen to state your own position, or ignore the entire thread? The First Amendment DOES apply to him, it's not like he yelled FIRE in a crowded movie theatre. BTW, I don't agree with his chosen words, but they haven't injured me.

At most you're a legend in your own mind. You haven't the slightest clue about what our soldiers are like or how they view their jobs. I do, I know personally because I work with them and some are my friends. Why don't you read about the American War for Independence and find out about people that died, so you can say what you say. It wasn't easy then, and it's not easy now for the Iraqi people. Our Founders sacrificed a lot, and so will the Iraqis to achieve their dreams. They're scared and unsure of their path.....but they're showing a willingness to try. They lived under a brutal monster for 35 years, so they're a bit new at this new form of government. But you and your pin-headed professors arrogantly judge the actions of doers, and would deny a chance at freedom for an entire nation.
