280z...the typical whinner!!! Complain, complain, complain, but does he have anything positive to add that might possibly improve the stuff he's ranting about.....NO, of course not!!!

I obviously do not have the compasion that some of the guys here have, so my advise to you 280z is....If you think things are so F'd up here in the USA...THEN LEAVE...move out of the country, take a hike! I'm sure we all can help out by raising the $$$ necessary for a plane ticket or a boat ride out of here! Whinners like you are nothing more than a burden to our society.............split...........leave...........dissapear!!!

you still dont get the message. i am trying to help this country. george bush is destroying it, he is taking away the freedoms that it is famous for, he completely doesnt understand the concept of seperation of church and state, americans are being killed and this country is a more dangerous place because of him. he is ruining this environment and losing our jobs, he is creating huge deficits and what do you people gain from him? tell me! i live in the united states because i like it and i want it to stay nice but it seems like no one else cares that this country is being destroyed. take the most beautiful z you have ever seen and call it america. george bush is driving that datsun through the mud and it kills me to see him doing that to such a beautiful car. does anyone at all understand me??

Yes, now come up with a way to fix it. Don't focus on the big picture, that is no way to make a change, just like a car restoration, clean up your facts, and define the problems. If George W is the worst rust a Z could have, it will take you four years to get that car out of the garage, but that doesn't mean you cant start looking for the next rust free chassis now, and clean up and straighten up the parts that will still be here when he is gone. You can change the system, but only through sustained conviction and constant effort. Unfortunately frustration and venting do not really accomplish anything toward change.

There is a way to fix it. we just missed a huge chance to fix it. nw we are stuck waiting for another 4 years (barring a plane crash, and a heart imploding) before another opportunity.

I guess you guys don't like analogies, but here's mine.

The good ship America is a sound vessel, but the rudder is broken and a mad man is in the Wheelhouse. I hope the rudder can be fixed and the captain replaced before the ship runs aground and is dashed to bit on the rocks. The reef grows ever closer. The Grand Lady deserves a better fate than that.

Andrew: The pictures disturb me also, but millions of people sitting comfortably in their living rooms in the USA, Britain, AND EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD should think about those pictures and realize exactly what waging this war means to the people closest to it. Families of military, the general population that gets caught in the middle of firefights, etc. There are few winners. (Bechtel, Halliburton, etc)

Come on, Steve. Kerry never said that.

He did say he voted for the appropriations bill before he voted against it. It was a true statement, and he wasn't the only pne to do so. The votes were on the bill which had been altered inbetween the times the votes were taken. He admitted what he did (like there was any choice but to do so); but that behavior is far different from how Bush operates. Even when it is obvious that he has F'd up, he doesn't admit his mistakes. He justifies his action by saying that he knows he was right even though the facts say differently.

The real problem Is getting someone who would really do the job he(or she) says would be done. A career politician is a difficult person to trust-unless you look at his body of work(everything he has or has not chosen to vote on) in excruciating detail. Too many bad things attatched to what was originally a good thing makes it really easy to hide agendas in what looks like overlooked details.

Sometimes I wonder how many Senators actually read-much less understand-every word of every document they vote on. If they don't, what are we paying them for-oops-I forgot-so they can earn all of the benefits they voted into law for their families. The Deep South may be the original stompin ground of the "Good ol' Boy" mentality, but I think it has overrun the banks of the Potomac. Maybe we need a reality show with Senators, and a President explaining line by line what they are voting on...

Oh, man have you hit it on the head!

....and the South definitely does not have a lock on that "Good ol' Boy" mentality (if it ever did).
