i can not keep my car on campus during the week but i found a couple different spots over here in santa cruz where i could stash her away during till the weekend but i know that i would be worrying about her constantly. if i did bring her, i would keep her under a locked car cover but even still i would worry about her. i feel so lonely without her, it has been 6 weeks since i have driven her and i think about her everyday. yesterday i was on the bus and we passed up craigs beautiful blue z waiting at an intersection and i was feeling so lonely without isabelle (her new name) i am seriously becoming depressed at times

but at least if shes at home, i know shes safe in the garage from theives and scratches and all that other stuff. . i just can not decide what to do. has anyone ever been ina similar situation? any comments or advice would be helpful thanks

Think out of the box! Somewhere in your area is a garage thats empty. Perhaps the owner doesnt use it or would trade someone cleaning it out as rent. Run an add, post one on the board at school and the grocery store, ask at church or the local resturants. Who knows its relationships like that could very easily become a source of income from them and their friends. People always need something fixed, cleaned or painted.

Finding a unused garage is not a bad idea, but it is very difficult to do in a college/university/tourist town like Santa Cruz. Marc's concerns about noise/access issues are quite valid. When I was in the Navy, a friend and I rented a garage and noise of parking late at night was a huge issue.

I would hardly consider myself a pro, but this thread DOES take me back a few. I decided to go sports car racing and college got in my way. I built the engine for my race car in my dorm room. Ported the head with a dremel grinder on my desk in the room.

$200 a month is a little high, perhaps. I pay $175 for a 16 x 20 dry garage for 26; including 20 amps of electricity. 27 is now parked in a humid carport with side curtains, but $15 a month makes it sound much better.

I'm definitely on the same page with Daniel. Those who seek shall find.

Now my advice....Focus on your studies. Propel yourself into your future armed with an education and a training to think. Your Z will be there when you get back.

$200 per month in Santa Cruz doesn't sound out of line. Maybe Boulder Creek, or Bonney Doon might be less costly. How 'bout the nudist beach up the coast. Hippies love old cars.
