Ladies and Gentlemen,

The outcome of today's election can and WILL change the course of not only our country and our lives, it will shape how the world progresses and will continue to progress for much longer than four years. It doesn't matter if you're voting Republican, Democrat, Green, Libertarian...please, if you're just sitting on your voter registration card, NOW is the time to do something with it. I can't stress enough the immense necessity that getting to the polls today is. This was my first election (the polling officials clapped for me) and I plan to never miss a single one. So please, guys and gals....

GET OUT THERE AND VOTE.

Besides, otherwise P.Diddy will come and kill you. Remember, "VOTE OR DIE."

I voted to have at least the idea that I can affect the world my son will grow up in!

Now when the wife gets ready, I will take her to the polls. She gave birth on Friday, and will be voting under her own power today-it is that important!

Vicky: Have you read, or otherwise learned of all the problems with the electronic voting systems that are being used? These issues make the "chad" thing look like a minor thing. The sad part is that the people in governemnt know about the problems and have chosen to use these systems anyway. This election could easily be stolen by one or the other of the parties.

(these problems are not just in FL, but in several other states/localities as well.)

Yes, I have read about the problems with the electronic machines. I actually perfer the punch cards better. The electronic machines seem as if there is no paper trail. I don't like the way the guy comes up and puts the "activator" in the machine. How do I really know what he's doing. At least with the punch cards I slipped it the device and no one helps do anything. I liked that. We'll see what happens with Florida and the rest of the country. I don't think we'll really know who our next president will be by tomorrow, do you?

I don't know, Vicky. I'm watching the news on NYC TV stations and they are already saying that results in some "key" states are coming in. I think that statements will be made, but I'm not so sure that they will really mean much until tomorrow at the earliest.

As for the mechanics of voting, I must agree with you. I preferred the punch cards. Even as an absentee voter (without the machine) I had no real problems making sure the "chads" were completely detached.

On the news radio this morning, someone was saying that there were voting machines in PA that had votes for one candidate already in memory before the polls opened. That kind of stuff, and the lack of checks and balances, a paper trail, etc concern me greatly. Computer glitches happen, and with no way to verify/recreate data some votes may not be counted, others may be counted twice and we will never know.

Which ever way it goes I hope it is not even close so we do not have to go through the fiasco of the last election.

Meanwhile the fraud continues down the road from me in Milwaukee, one of the most politically corrupt cities in the country. As it was in the last election.

Election watchers have found over 35,000 voter registrations in question.

Either the person does not exist, dead, convicted felon, illegal alien or registered in multiple locations. On other forms the address does not exist, or is a vacant lot, cemetary, billboard, sign, warehouse, garage, gas station, phone booth, etc. etc.

The biggest problem is a person does not have to have an ID to register. The Mayor backed by our Govenor, both big time leftys, decided to require to prove who you are would "disenfrancise" too many voters. Isn't that an over used word.

They also had printed 3 ballots for every registered voter. Unheard of until now. The reason was to make sure there was enough ballots as not to deny any one to vote. Right. More opportunity to stuff the boxes.

Gore won Wisconsin last time by only a few thousand votes.

Not to be believed. Had it been correct, it never would have gone to Florida.

In Australia it is law that you have to vote. If you dont vote, you get a fine.

And they hold the elections on the weekend

We vote by marking numbers on pieces of paper that are put into boxes, which are then transported to a counting center, where people count the votes.

I'd rather stay home and vote via the internet.

How will it affect us? Sounds like Johnie Howard will still be kissing George W.'s a$$.
