I took out my 3.36 over the weekend to temporarily put in a 4.11 while I finish rebuilding my 4.40. Obviously the speedo which was suprisingly accurate is no way off. I know I can get an adapter gear to screw on the tranny where the speedo cable plugs in.

But where do I get this? Don't have Motorsport's catalog in front of me but do they have that too???

Courtesy Nissan is in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in Texas. You can find them at http://coutesynissan.com http://coutesynissan.com Go to parts, and type in your request. Very good. Very professional; and probably have the largest stock of original Z parts in the country, if not the world.

ooohh i see....

fyi i checked prices on some of my favorite items between courtesy in tx and www.nismoparts.com which is a nissan dealership in seattle and everything except for the oil cooler that comes with the diff cooling kit was cheaper in seattle.

thanks for the info nonetheless! :)

How difficult is it to swap a ring and pinion in a R-200? I wanted to change my 3.90 to something like a 4.44. I know 4.11 is available in a 200sx turbo, but I wanted to go higher.

Motorsport does have the speedo correction gears BTW, they are about $15...

It did me too, that's why I had someone that knew what they were doing set mine up. Good luck finding a lower gear than 4:11 for an R-200, they are getting hard to find.

There is an alternative, an R-180 out of a 720 4x4 pickup will have a 4.37:1 diff in the front. The years are 6/79 through 12/82.

And the 720 longbed 4x4 from 6/79 through 6/80 had an R-180 with a 4.62:1 diff in the front. Of course they may be a little hard to find in a junkyard, but they will be cheaper and lighter than the R-200.
