Posted November 12, 200420 yr comment_101753 To those in the Southwest states, I went to a Big Lots discount store yesterday and was surprised to find a 1:18 dicast 1970 Z car model. The detail was mediocre, compared to the Kyosha I have here on my desk. All the series I details were there, except it had "Z" hubcaps as opposed to the correct "D" caps. All the models there, (4 of them) were dark Green with butterschoch interiors. I WAS going to buy all of them at $12.95 apeice, but abandon all my purchases and walked out empty-handed when I saw the checkout line bending around several corners and only one cashier on duty. November 12, 200420 yr Author comment_101768 I don't think you will find better than the Kyosho($50 ~ $70). I also have a SunStar ($25~$35) and a Yat-Ming ($20~$30). In detail quality I'd rank the Yat-Ming just over the SunStar, But both well below the Kyosho.Kyosho 1:18 Monte Carlo Rallye - Fantanstic!http://wonderclub.com/diecast/Datsun240ZRally5_8215B.htmYat-Minghttp://www.idcow.com/ym2014.htmlOne Stop Shopping http://www.speednation.com/store/datsun.html Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/13987-so-so-1970-diecasts-at-big-lots/#findComment-101768 Share on other sites
November 12, 200420 yr comment_101769 For correctness and detail, I'd have to say the Franklin Mint one. Vicky Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/13987-so-so-1970-diecasts-at-big-lots/#findComment-101769 Share on other sites
November 12, 200420 yr Author comment_101770 Vicky, I'll bet the 1:43 yellow is an EBBRO. They are pretty nice for being so small! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/13987-so-so-1970-diecasts-at-big-lots/#findComment-101770 Share on other sites

November 12, 200420 yr comment_101772 Actually for the money ($10.00) the Road Signature is the best. Doors, hood and hatch all line up. Front wheels turn. Engine turns over, nice and quiet Of course not. But the hub caps are off a '72. This model should have the "D"'s. Be cool if we could find one with the slots. November 12, 200420 yr comment_101773 I have a Yat-Ming here on my desk and like it...then again it's the only die-cast I have seen so I can't really compare it to the others. November 12, 200420 yr Author comment_101774 Just found some shot of the Franklin Mint 1:24. I don't think the Interior is anywhere near the Kyosho's detail. True the 1:18 car is much bigger and it was easier to get the detials in.http://www.cellinifinegifts.com/fm_1970datsun.htm Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/13987-so-so-1970-diecasts-at-big-lots/#findComment-101774 Share on other sites
