My Z story

Well friday morning my grandfather, my father, my brother and I started off after this car. Lets say this probably ranked about 3 on the dumbest ideas we ever had LOL.

Chris gave some great directions and we were able to find his place easily, Only made one wrong turn the whole trip. Dad and i test drove the car.(dad still drives like your grandmother)

We were very pleased with the engine. It runs very strong but the brakes were scary LOL. When we got back to Chrisses house and i was praparing to give the man his money.

He refused it. He gave me the car for free!

Chris took me for a ride in his 73 i think it is? Very fast and pretty car. That had to be the most fun ive ever had!

Well after we had gotten dinner we came back to get the car dad wanted to play with it somemore so he drove it to the motel. And well this thing is ummm air conditioned. And in Nebraska you dont need it this time of year LOL. So he turns on the heater. About maby two minutes after that the car filled with smoke and we smelled coolent real bad.

Dad starts flipping switches and hitting buttons, He turned the heater off and it stopped. Then it downed on me, Chris told me the heater leaked. Well we felt about as dumb as bricks after that. So we called it a night.

Then then today started out great. We requested a wake up call for 5 am. The dim wit woke us up at six. So we were a hr. behind what we planned.

After we got on the interstate coming home The trip was pretty uneventfull.

While dad was taking his turn at the wheel( he wouldnt let me drive much cuz the brakes.) I was moving around in the car doing somthing and my foot went straight through the floor! Well we pulled it over and i beet the floor back up with a hammer. After that it rode fairely solid.

It went through a qt. of tranny fluid and a qt. of motor oil. But other then that she ran like a champ. In KC Mi. We had a scare from the Mi state pd. But he never stopped us. Needless to say im kinda sleepy at the moment. I know im leaving things out. Anyone that wants to know something just ask me.

We are very happy with the and with Chris. He is a great guy.

Thanks ChrisA!

If you live in AR and went to Nebraska for the car what the hell were you doing in MI? Dude, you got totally lost and went the wrong way!

Hope your foot didn't hit the road when it went through the floor!! :ermm:

Get some sleep Bill, it sounds like you will need it to begin doing all the work this car needs.

I wish that this had spell check in it, some posts are very tough to read. :(

I hope everyone realizes that Bill was fully aware of the car's body condition. But I think they came and got it for the motor. I think with the collection of Z's he has now, he can put together something that will make him happy. I was really surprised that they came at all but, when you have that Z bug in you, you do some wild things. They are good people. They mean well and that's what matters.

I was just happy to take Bill for a ride in my 73 so he could experience a small part of the thrill that makes us all love these cars. His grin was ear to ear!

I once drove 600 miles for an L24/E88 that had been used as an irrigation pump motor. So I can relate.

Bill, I hope you can find a way to enjoy the 72 and most of all, do with it what YOU want.

Chris
