November 18, 200420 yr comment_102369 I vote for the bumper bolt. In my reassemble note book I wrote down in big bold letters. "INSTALL REAR BUMPER BEFORE GAS TANK!!". November 18, 200420 yr comment_102374 My vote for the two hardest bolts to remove are the ones holding the Hood Latch Pin to the hood.........after the Hood Release Cable breaks.Enrique Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14034-hardest-bolt-or-nut-to-get-to/?&page=2#findComment-102374 Share on other sites

November 19, 200420 yr comment_102415 I hate those stinking exhuast manifold bolts... we'll the ones that attach to the intake manifold... grr.. i hate those... and also some of the screws under the dash by the heater core... by the heater hoses and stuff.. November 19, 200420 yr comment_102426 no i have a new one, i was replacing the oil pan gasket and there are hella bolts, at least 15 or 20, and a few of them are a total pain in the arse to screw in, you gotta hold them in a real loose, funky position with two of your fingers and try to screw them in enough untill you can use a tiny wrench and tighten them 30 degrees at a time Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14034-hardest-bolt-or-nut-to-get-to/?&page=2#findComment-102426 Share on other sites
November 19, 200420 yr comment_102465 My vote goes to the inner bolts holding the heat flange under the intake on the 76-78 280. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14034-hardest-bolt-or-nut-to-get-to/?&page=2#findComment-102465 Share on other sites
January 24, 200520 yr comment_110021 i would have to say getting the rear passanger bumper shock bolts. those required alot of crap coming off before u could even see them. also alot of pentrating oil Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14034-hardest-bolt-or-nut-to-get-to/?&page=2#findComment-110021 Share on other sites
January 25, 200520 yr comment_110063 I would have to go with the heater core/hose hardware. Just finished replacing the core, and my head and back still hurt. January 25, 200520 yr comment_110072 I'd have to agree with the steering coupler bolts. There was one that was a real bitch plus you have to get some pressure on it while bending over into the engine bay! I fnally used a cigarette lighter to get it to come loose. Heat works well. After that, prob anything to do with the internal heater hoses. January 25, 200520 yr comment_110083 having just finished a half day marathon change of steering column -i also vote steering coupler bolts...although, for those of you attempting it, i had someone of adequate strength help (as my socket wrench could only get one click in, so that equated to about 1/12th of a turn each .. go. so i got it on and held it tight - and got someone to turn the steering wheel back and forth (get the front end off the ground). This made life a little easier.but after that, anything under the infernal dash! January 25, 200520 yr comment_110132 My vote is the exhuast manifold bolts. If you don't have a lift and are working on ramps and the bolt head is stripped due to some *&%$#### that does exhuast work and don't care they are the worst.
