November 1, 200816 yr comment_265051 Looking back at this 3+ year old post while searching for something else, I saw this statement I made back then. I have since learned, about three years ago, that I was wrong!:stupid: 75-77 has the contact points, 78 and beyond doesn't.Aaaaand here I go digging up the thread again... I'm looking for an Ignition relay of the same part you mentioned and saw it in the thread. I've found plenty of other relays on other parts websites, and a local auto store, but not part number 25230-89958 ignition relay. I called the local Levine's that supplies our shop parts and the only one they could give me by name was the horn relay, and several others with different part numbers beginning with 25230, labeled as "generic relays". Do you know of a good place to source one, besides a junkyard, or a suitable replacement for this six prong relay? Thanks, -Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14069-where-is-accessory-relay-for-77-280z/?&page=2#findComment-265051 Share on other sites
November 1, 200816 yr comment_265053 I don't recall the part number but a ZX ignition relay will work. All you need to do is take it out of the ZX case and put it in the Z case so that it will mount in the bracket. March 30, 200916 yr comment_279187 And one more time the thread comes back. I do have a question for everyone. Bad fuel, would it cause my fuel pump to not "whine" Z has been sitting a while go to start it and I get no whine from the pump. It was working for I let it sit for the winter and the relay is good. I haven't gone under the car to see if I'm getting power to the pump but the pump is less than a year old and it had good connection before parked and would start right up. Now though there is nothing. So could bad fuel be my culprit? And no I didn't intend for the z to be sitting over the winter it just happened that way so I didn't put fuel stabilizer in.I'd just like to know if bad fuel could cause this problem before trying to tear everything apart.
