question regarding tripple weber carbs

I just won an ebay auction for tripple weber's/manifold/linkage

problem is, I found out how uncommon these carbs are. Can someone tell me if these are worth the money i'm about to spend?? and if they would be better than the bored SU carbs I have on my car now??

WOW. I never knew Weber made a 42 DCOE. I thought they came in 40 or 45mm.

On a L24 they be fine. If your stroker, you might be better off with the 45's. I don't have my book in front of me but from memory the L28 at 6500 revs needs 44.8mm. So 45's are fine. I know you have 300more cc but you'll probably pulling less revs.

3.5 aux venturi

135 main jet

F15 emulsion tube

155 air correc

55F2 idle jet

45 pump jet

closed pump bleed

200 needle valve

I forgot I have that book "how to modify your nissan & datsun ohc engine", and there's the formula right there on page 111. Looks like a DCOE 45 is the minimum, I could even run the 48's. Crap!! well I haven't sent the money yet. I think I'd rather take the negative ebay rep, than get something that wont work for my set up. So running 3 of these DCOE 42's isn't as good as running 2 50mm SU's??

Yeap....I'd get 45's on there or even 48's if you could get some. Bet you can't get any chokes for the 42's anyway. You'd have to get them turned up and if you haven't got a lathe, then you are in for another bill.

I dunno i see what the dilemna is but I think once you bid you've said I'm willing to buy just because you haven't researched what you need isn't the sellers fault. Maybe you guys can reach a compromise but I just think it's a little unfair possibly the seller might be able to sell them to the second highest bidder if you write him a nice email.

To answer your question though you should get 48's for the stroker.

I had a guy in California bid on and win an airdam. WHen I figures out shipping, he could have bought it at MSA cheeper. I let him out. and gave him good feedback for being so straight folward.
