Online Racing

Once again it's time to think about armchair racing for the winter....

This time I'd like to ask for suggestions on what program, or software, to use on a PC that features 1st gen Zed(s). I know some of you guys have those game boxes, but we need a COMMON PLATFORM, so I'm going with the PC, since (I assume) PCs all have some kind of an Internet connection. I don't want to buy a game box, as I'd rather buy parts for the Z, but software can be gotten cheaply. :bunny:

Dunno if you'd care still as its a console game, but, i would think that Gran Turismo 4 will have at least ONE incarnation of the Z, hopefully the 432/432R if we're lucky :D Im quite sure at this stage that theres going to be one or all of the first three generations of Skyline GTR :rambo: Online play will *hopefully* be realised at a date not long after the release...

No Z's but i loved Need For Speed Porsche. peer to peer tcp/ip racing was great.

I've tried racer with the 240z. Its very difficult being a simulator, and not so much a game. and if you fall off the track you end up spinning through space forever, which is kind of weird. untill you hit excape that is.

There's another internet game called "live for speed" think there was a free demo. http://www.liveforspeed.net/ I think you can set up your own server.

Would be cool to have a race server where we could race against each other.

And theres the Nissan Racing Simulator that has been discussed on this site before. Which has a load of datsun/nissan cars like the 240z and the c10 Skyline GTR.

GT4 is not for PC, as Tom indicated.. live for speed is awesome once you get the hang of mouse-steering (or if you have a wheel). Nissan Racing Simulator! I think I lost that. It was good in its day... I dont remember a C10 though.
