December 6, 200420 yr comment_104348 After looking at the pics of this car it has some issues I'd go with the OBO.The dash looks excellent though. December 6, 200420 yr comment_104351 Looks more like a $2000 or less valued car from the pictures. According to Page 2, the car doesn't run. How much are you willing to gamble that it can be made safe and reliable for a resonable amount of money? Eleven years is a long time for a car to sit. Lots of parts will need to be replaced or rebuilt. Then there is the rust.............Good for a long term project, but IMO not worth even close to $3500 or $3000 or $2500 or............... December 6, 200420 yr comment_104352 "nearly rust free"?I wonder if that is a full dash cap, seems like with the floor in that kind of shape, the dash would have started to show signs of wear and tear... December 6, 200420 yr comment_104355 ...Good for a long term project, but IMO not worth even close to $3500 or $3000 or $2500 or...............I concur with Carl, but I'll temper the price range with the famous "It's located on the EAST Coast" upcharge that seems to add 2-3k to what we would pay in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada (dry states, little to no salt in winter). So, if you discount that upcharge...then it's a $500 to $1500 car. And that's about what I would expect to pay in the states mentioned. Not that I agree with that upcharge, but it seems to me that many people on the east coast tend to pay a bit more, because they do have lots of rain and snow and do use salt in the winter, so a car that's survived this far has been, in their estimation, "Babied".Just looking at the pictures of the car, a blind-a$$ guess-timate of the bodywork this car would need would be in the vicinity of $3-4,000 and that would not include a paint job. And I may be totally out of line with that guess. Anyone else?Enrique Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14239-what-do-you-all-think-about-this-240z/#findComment-104355 Share on other sites

EnriqueIf possible, please leave NM out of the "dry states" list, I want em all to myself...Robert Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14239-what-do-you-all-think-about-this-240z/#findComment-104356 Share on other sites

December 7, 200420 yr comment_104379 There was a picture of the left rear hatch sill showing a 6-pak of Coronas. If they are still cold, you might have to pay a little more!I agree with all the advice so far. The floors are probably worse than they look in my experience. The car has 3 - 4 thousand dollars worht of rust issues. The dash does look good, but other critical interior parts are either missing or damaged. I would guess another 3 grand on the interior. Figure 2-3 grand to get the engine running and....Oh what am I saying here? This car is $12,000 worth of work to make it a nice daily driver. December 7, 200420 yr comment_104388 "nearly rust free"?... That must be "surface rust" then in those pictures. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/14239-what-do-you-all-think-about-this-240z/#findComment-104388 Share on other sites
December 7, 200420 yr comment_104399 "nearly rust free"? Yes thats right. No charge for the rust. You get the rust for free. Rust thrown in at no extra cost. Except in this case he's gonna have to charge you a little for the rust, as it nearly rust free. Ok i'm done being silly.
